Understanding the mechanisms of network oscillations within and across hippocampal circuits. Moving from human EEG to mouse LFP, his research focuses on the relationship between oscillations and cognition in the hippocampus supporting spatial and mnemonic processing. Outside of lab work, he enjoys traveling, indoor climbing, and reading. Hongshen also loves painting and calligraphy but seems lacking of a little natural talent for that ^^;
